I had the opportunity to travel with MMO to Honduras to work with the Goins and the Ellis families in 2006. I did not have the responsibility of caring for the patients or even sharing the gospel (as I do not speak Spanish); however, I did have the opportunity to assist in setting up, maintaining order at the front gait and I had the pleasure of speaking to the teenagers of the local church through an interpreter on Wednesday evening. My experience was incredibly humbling. Humbling by the site of the physical and spiritual need of the people in Hunduras. I was humbled by the vision and passion of the MMO staff to assist those people in any way possible. I was also humbled by the volunteers that sacrificed their time and money to get the gospel to a needy people. And I was humbled by the missionaries and their families and the great work that they have established.

This trip has changed my outlook on life. Although my job was a simple one in Honduras, it help me realize that every job is equally important in the work of the Lord. I look forward to another opportunity to travel with MMO.

We wanted to thank Medical Missions Outreach for the wonderful medical missions trip that they had here in Peru.  After living in Peru for over 20 years, I would have to say that I have never been with a better group of people, their organization was out of this world and this made their trip very easy to deal with.  We had the privilege of seeing over 1400 souls saved throughout the time the clinic was here and we are still working on discipleship with them.  MMO is an incredible group and Pastor Edmondson and his staff made working with them a charm.  THANKS!

We've all heard the phrase "No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care". The ministry of MMO helps to do just that - provide for a person's physical needs and thereby break down barriers to be able to share the gospel. The experienced medical caregivers with MMO, armed with a smile, medical knowledge, and a desire to help, were able to "show how much they care" by providing free medical services and medicines, which gave us the opportunity to "share how much we know" of our Savior Jesus Christ. We'll use this ministry again in the future.

The Medical Brigade we hosted in 2006 opened my eyes to suffering that I did not know existed all around us. But what was even more amazing was how helping someone's hurt opened his heart to receive the message of salvation.

I will never forget one elderly gentleman in particular who came to the clinic. He had been suffering from asthma for years, and to our knowledge, had not been treated for it. He was a farmer who walked long distances each day to work, and had to stop and rest frequently, because his passages were so closed. When the nurse listened to his breathing, she could scarcely believe how shallow it was. She sent him to get a breathing treatment; when he returned, he was only slightly better. He returned for more treatment, but this time when he came back, tears of relief were running down his face. He thanked us profusely--he had not breathed that deeply in years.

One hundred and sixty nine people received an even better "treatment" that week. They were led to a saving knowledge of Christ and gained an eternal relationship with God. Our week of hosting the medical brigade was full of stories of real people whose lives were changed forever.

God used this trip to confirm in my heart the desire to continue to serve Him in medical missions.  He also confirmed the need to complete graduate school and become a nurse practitioner so that I may be more effective as I continue to go on these trips as God allows. During the trip, I was reminded time and again of God's grace and provision.  There are no words that fully describe the joy that I experienced from seeing peoples faces light up just because they knew I cared or when we learned how many people not only had their physical needs met but also their spiritual needs. Truly the joy of the Lord was our strength as we affected eternity.
